restraining order.

Alright, so I may possibly have to get a blogging restraining order on cousin judi who has been harassing me since Thursday to blog. Even though she knows perfectly well that I have been on a two day escape with my husband for his birthday and only got home late last night and had to work this morning. geesh.
and yes, since you are asking, I had a great time. And my husband is turning THIRTY SEVEN later this week which is amazing to me since he was nineteen when we met. I wondered then if he was too old for me. hahaha.

So, I have this random mass of blogging points for today.

First, if you have not yet watched I am Legend...please do yourself a favor and skip it. Why? It is a horrible movie. Don't get me wrong... it was well made, it was well acted, and it did what it set out to do... mostly. But at some point in the movie I realized I was not being entertained at all, I was being assaulted. It was overly sad and scary and hopeless. If you have a tender heart like me, you will be tortured. I'm just saving you. Don't come crying to me if you see it and your heart is broken. And in the interest of behaving like a happily married Christian woman, I will not mention that the only redeeming quality in the movie was Will Smith's abs. I won't do it. Besides, I don't want you to find out what a horrid person I actually am.

Speaking of me being horrid, I feel like I misrepresented myself Wednesday. You should probably know that although I did do that really cool organizational thing with my shoes, I am actually a slob. I can't let people in my house without notice because I am a filthy pig. SO. don't be that impressed. It made my blog because it was an anomaly, not a normal behavior. There. You know the truth. I feel better now.

Next, I would like to welcome my dear sweet friend Kim to the blogging world. This is one tough chica who has endured and triumphed in Christ more in the last few years than I hope to in a lifetime. Miss Kim is a widow and mother of two young children. More importantly, she is funny, a HOTTIE, a major conservative, a wonderful Christian and a true blue friend. You can go visit her here. Tell her I said howdy! Also tell her she owes me 5 bucks for the endorsement. kidding.

I had all these really rich spiritual things I wanted to share with you today, but this dumb migraine that is trying to surface is kicking my booty, so for now, I'll leave you with this:
Today for the first time, I actually imagined hearing the Trumpet Call, and hurrying my family together, realizing this was really actually going to happen, and I was really going to go be with Jesus at last. I could feel it as though it was happening. My heart was beating so fast, and I was so happy. I realize that's not exactly how it's going to be... the twinkling of an eye is probably too fast for me to get the kids together and grab my camera, and who knows if it will happen in my lifetime...

but, you guys,
Jesus is really going to come back.

one way or another, if we are His,
we are really going to be with Him someday!

it's is not just a fairy tale.
it's real.
really really real.
do you feel it?
are you ready?

According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

* Glad you had a great escape with your husband. If your husband is 37 he must be much too old for you! lol

* Thanks for the I Am Legend heads up. Didn't really want to see it anyway. And you are a paragon of Christian virtue not to notice Will's abs. You are amazing!

* So you're a slobby Emelda Marcos is what you're saying??

* HI Kim!!!

* Sorry about the migraine. :o(

* YIPPY!!!!!

A little unfair that Jenster beat me to the 1st comment spot. Boo. Actually, I'm so distracted by that, that I can't remember what my comment was going to be about this post. Looking forward to my mansion in heaven - will there be housekeepers there, or will stuff just pick itSELF up?

mandy-
yes, I do agree there was lots of spiritual content... but i could have learned the lesson without being beat up so badly.

I'm glad you liked it. they clearly worked very hard on the film, so it's good to know that there is an audience for it. you must be one tough chick!

Oooh, I hope you had fun with the hubs...Good for you!

Big saw I Am Legend, but then he likes armegeddon types of things. Luckily for me, he saw it with a good guy friend who is of like sick mind. :)

I'll go see Kim.

You should go see Atonement. Verrry good. Not a cheery flick, though. Not so cheery at all. But veddy, veddy good.

I hate migraines. I have them and sinus headaches, and I just curse Adam and Eve as I take my Advil. :)

You and I are a lot alike, it seems. Clutter is an unwanted houseguest, but we're basically "clean" folks. We'll just keep on keeping on. One hefty bag at a time.

Have a great week, my friend.

Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the movie review. I wasn't planning on going to watch it, but we might have rented it once if came out of DVD. Hope your time away with hubby was awesome. Love the encouraging scripture you ended with!

So glad you clarified the shoe system because I was considering hiring you to come work your magic in my closet. Mine is a MESS!

Hope your headache is gone!

And so thankful you got to spend some time with your husband for his birthday!

Thanks for the feedback on I Am Legend. I haven't seen it & have heard mixed reviews.

You know, as life is going by I find myself too so excited for the return of Christ. I don't think we can even wrap our minds around it! Thank you for sharing your heart & reminding me again to be looking upward!

Awww, a getaway with the hubby and no kids? Luckyy! I'm really jealous, I mean happy for you.

I agree with you on those kinds of movies. It would be terribly, devistatingly sad to be one of those 'left behind'...I loved how you ended this post! Preach it sistuh!

It is hard to leave a simple comment when you cram so much into one post. I think I'll skip the movie.

I have to confess, I hope Jesus doesn't come back too soon. There are too many I know who would be left behind, my darling husband is one of them.

How do I keep getting behind on reading what my blog buddies are up to?

I am so glad you and your hubby were able to get away for his birthday!

I have to agree with you - you either love the movie or it really bothers ya. J. wanted to see it and he loved it. Me- I did not like it - it put me in a funk that was hard to shake. I still am thinking about it!

Glad to know we are still kindred spirits in the housekeeping department! ;O)
