Mama Mia!

Okay, so I had the great meet and greet, the lovely and talented Mama P and I. You know how you have in your head an expectation of how someone is going to be? Well, if at all possible, this chick is even MORE charming, MORE beautiful, and MORE enjoyable than I expected!

I, on the other hand, got lost for 45 minutes in the heat, and was all nastified, sweaty, cranky, and makeup-free when I arrived. My hair was reduced to strings and sweat as I stomped down the sidewalk, only to be greeted by the forgiving, laid back, fun to chat with lady you see above. We had fantastic Italian food, and sat and talked for I think 12 thousand hours.

Topics? Privacy in blogging, similarities of our husbands, being content and married, and a zillion other things. It felt like I was sitting with a friend I'd known for a million years. Then we went shopping RETAIL (okay, clearance retail) for a minute, then parted ways. I got lost on my way back to the car and then headed for home, cranky again and sweaty but soooo content and full of happy thoughts about my first MIRL. Oh, and I also called home and told my husband that she was not, in fact, a man who wanted to hack me into a million bits. So he owes me a dollar. HA!

___

I have been running a fever for the last 15 hours or so, and before that I've been overcome with a huge amount of lethargy and lack of will to live. All I want to do is be in my bed, chatting online with my friends and sleeping. This is not getting the laundry done, or the groceries bought. Hmph. Last night, my fever spiked at about 102, and I laid back in my bed and whined to J about how hot it was in our bedroom, and he looked over from underneath his ski hat, mittens, and polar jacket and asked me if I would just please take some medicine.

I finally did and crashed out with like 5 chat windows open on my laptop, and can't remember if I said goodnight to Wen, Julie, Tara, S4J, or Bran. Or if I was talking to anyone at that point. Or if I said anything crazy. I'm thinking that each of them went to bed hours before me, and that I was never even talking to anyone at the same time so they must've said goodnight, but you just never know. I have a faint recollection of ranting to Wen about how the word are doesn't need the letter e at the end, and speaking of that, neither does Brad Pitt need that extra t, and for heaven's sake why the awful accent in 7 Years in Tibet? I think I might have mentioned that my eyelids were feeling sweaty to someone, and then the room started spinning.

The last thing I recall is that I felt the computer being lifted from my lap, which had probably been there for like 6 hours, and heard my hubby closing everything down and felt him kiss my forehead.

Come to think of it, laying down sounds like an awfully good idea even now. Maybe the laundry and grocery fairies will take pity and fill my pantry, fridge and closets while I sleep....

The Lord nurses them when they are sick
and restores them to health.
Psalm 41:3

When those fairies are done, can you send them over to my place? Your blog meeting looked like fun. Hope someday I can meet you, too!

Also, if I were there I would get your groceries and do your laundry and yell at your people to be quiet!
