Family Meme

Okay, I'm trying to think where I haven't seen this particular meme. There are some particularly sweet ones here and here and here and here and many more places I forgot about already but still really enjoyed.

Here's the scoop from my family
:
S= Thirteen year old punk son
K= Nine year old daughter
C= Nine year old daughter
J= My husband
A= THE ACTUAL TRUTH (also, you'll find my commentary in italics)

1. What is something your mom/wife always says to you?
S: "Don't be a punk." (sadly, that's true. I also say nice things though, for the record.)
K: "I love you"
C: "I don't like repetitive noises" (also true. they get on my last nerve)
J: "I love you"

A: I tell all my people I love them every.single.day. (how soon they forget)

2. What makes your mom/wife happy?
S: When you do stuff without her asking. (CUE THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS!)
K: Chai tea & candles
C: Burning candles
J: Lists

A: When my family knows that I like all those things. Soooo happy
3. What makes your mom/wife sad?
S: When you drop stuff on her foot (punk.)
K: Marley & Me (true. cried my very eyes out)
C: When me & my sister don't get along (also true)
J: No lists (very creative, honey)

A: Apparently, everything in the last week.
4. How does your mom/wife make you laugh?
S: When she says something stupid. What? It's funny. (yes, when you are 13 the funniest thing in the world is when your mom is stupid. hmph.)
K: She tickles me (I hate tickling. don't know where she got this)
C: When Sparkie does something really funny (this girl is cat CRAZY and Sparkle is her kitty)
J: When you have toothpaste drool on your shirt. (me:*looks down, rolls eyes* very funny, husband. what would I do if you didn't laugh at my slobbiness?)

5. What was your mom/wife like as a child?
S: She had bangs, I don't know. (bangs?)
K: I don't know
C: She was a lot like me
J: A little grownup

A: I was a nerdy girl much like my girls, a bookworm who thought she was a grownup.

6. How old is your mom/wife?
S: 34?
K: 30?
C: 34?
J: 37! ( I totally am NOT...)

A: My birthday is one month from today. For now I am THIRTY SIX. don't you people know me?

10. If your mom/wife becomes famous, what will it be for?
S: Writing a book
K: A writer
C: Being the organizer of the President of the United States(huh?)
J: Writing

A: Come to think of it, it might be veeeeeery interesting to be in charge of organizing this particular president. hmmmm.I could think of a few things I'd like to put in order. Let's start with me, the stimulus plan and a red pen in a room for just an HOUR.

11. What is your mom/wife really good at?
S: Organizing
K: Making me laugh
C: Organizing
J: Organization

A: This one blows me away. I am the messiest person I know. How they call me organized is beyond me. None of them even heard each other's answers before coming up with that. very strange.
12. What is your mom/wife not very good at?
S: Athletics
K: Picking me up (physically)
C: Listening to fighting

S: She works for the church (excuse me, this makes me teary)
K: That she writes
C: That she's so nice and she's in music videos a lot at church (please don't ask about this one)
J: Everything. Taking care of the kids.
16. If your mom/wife were a cartoon character, who would she be?
S: Jason from Foxtrot (apparently he's some smart kid. I guess that's a compliment)
K: I don't even know- Suzie from Calvin & Hobbs
C: Maybe Fern in Charlotte's Web? (that's what you get when you don't have TV)
J: I don't know

A: Truth is my family doesn't watch cartoons. We're bookworms. *shrug*

17. What do you and your mom/wife do together?
S: We take pictures and get food.
K: We go on mommy-daughter dates, watch movies, and we... talk!

S: Same eyesight. exactly. (we actually wear the same exact contact prescription)
K: Everything but our looks (she really is the mini-me)
C: We both are kind of good at organizing and we both worry a lot (what? me worry?)
J: We like Kings Fish House (guess who wants to go to King's?)
19. How are you and your mom/wife different?

S: He's a Christian
K: He's handsome and he's strong and he's nice
C: That he's smart and funny and is really good with kids
J: My rugged good looks

A: All those things. They are absolutely right.
22. Where is your mom/wife's favorite place to go?
S: Sushi restaurants.
K: She likes to sit on the couch on that one special place by the fireplace
C: Amishland
J: Cape Cod

A: I just like to go places. All their answers are great but I especially love Germany.

Well, that was fun......... mostly. Though, I feel a little like my slip is showing. Hahaha.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.

This made me want to know your family! And your answer to #12 suddenly made me understand my kids' answers to that question. I think that they, too, fear the tears. "Don't get Mom started again!"

I loved this, Amber. Your kids are great...and I got ticked at the eyebrow waggle. I was AFRAID to ask my husband the answers to these questions!

Hey...I cannot stand repetitive noises either. And how sweet that they're in awe of your organizational skills!

SO glad you did this, friend.

Loved this!

So true with the stimulus and the red pen...and the hallelujah chorus...and all the answers for what you do when they're not around.

We're bookwormish, too AND looove that same seafood place (we usually go there for our anniversary)...and those things you say to your kids? I say those, too, lol.

There is nothing wrong with being a bookworm. I resemble that remark. And constant noise drives me insane. I have perfected the death stare which sometimes silences it.

Lurve this. I am the queen of hypersensitivity to repetitive sound. Wonder how I can type...?

Me likey candles, too.

You've got an entirely great fam.

I t.h.o.u.g.h.t. I was a good organizer. Turns out...I'm not. Perception is reality. :)

Again - how did my list miss #21? Oh well.

And how come everybody else has kids who answer nice cartoon characters, whereas my son answered Elmer Fudd!?

You have such a lovely family! Then again, you knew that. :o)

Boy, your son's & husband's answers were very similar. I thought son's answer to #15 would make me cry, too.

Fun to find out what they really think about you...and it all made me love you even more!

Hi, here from Sunday Stealing, urm, Sunday Complimenting You Via Imitation.

When your son starts a blog, will ya let me know? I think I recognize me in him. Except when you get old you aren't called a punk. :-)

Very clever that you involved the family and "the truth."

That was fun! I love that your son's answer to the question about you as a kid was just a mystified "bangs?". That reminded me of something my OWN boy would say.
