Tweenagers Part 2

Well, we're home & I'm tuckered out, but wanted to post this before I lose my momentum... I'm a little short on words, so I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves- (if you're interested in actually seeing any of them, simply click any photo to enlarge)

Here we are getting ready for the day:

(The dresses were a bargain find we discovered last week... but they were a little huge. As we headed to the store, K was fussing about how uncomfortable she was in the car. 'We are 12 minutes away, K... can you deal with it or not?' Her answer had me in stitches...'Are you kidding? I've been waiting to go to the American Girl Place forever! I could deal with it if i were sitting on ROCKS!')

And here we are waiting for the store to open:

Exploring the first floor:

The Wonder of the Second Story:

Being spoiled in the Cafe:

Fantastic Food:

Birthday Dessert:

So hard to choose:

Finally! A choice! Hooray for Kit! The newest member of our family!

I will be filled with joy because of you.
I will
sing praises to your name, O Most High.

Wow, it looks like you had quite the girl extravaganza! I'm sad and glad at the same time that we don't have an American Girl store anywhere near here.

I love how the people seem to be in awe of you with your two little life-sized dolls. Quite a bit of staring at your beautiful girls in the background of your photos.

Happy Birthday to your princesses, and good work to you, Momma!

Lurve. Lurve that you're allowing them to revel in their little girl-ery. Kit is a wonderful choice, indeed.I used to remember her dog's name, but I don't. :)

Well done, Momma.

Thank you for encouraging your girls to be girls and not miniature teenagers.

My daughter is only in kindergarten but I see so many moms encouraging even her friends to dress like teenagers and watch teenager shows and movies. I know she can't be a little girl forever, but for Pete's sake, can't she be a little girl at least for while she's a little girl?

You are such a cool mom.

You are the world's coolest girly-mom! What an awesome birthday memory.

I might just have to borrow my sisters daughters over Christmas break and go check that place out for ourselves...

We don't have Kit...though I wish we did! I love that movie...actually all of them.

Was the Cafe there as good as the one in NYC? If so, you definitely were in for a treat!

Way fun, friend! Made me misty, and I'm so glad you posted eight jillion pictures so I could revel in all the girliness.

I'm surprised they didn't want the Andrea doll. It comes with red glasses, a writers bag, and a mini vial of faux Zoloft. So very L.A.!

Being a momma to all boys, I'm kinda stunned and jealous over this adventure. WOW WOW WOW!!! I just know God will bless me with a grandaughter one day. In the meantime, I love my boys to pieces.

So glad y'all had fun!!

First I have to say I "ditto" to Fran's comment. I loved reading about your little girl/tween adventure - what great memories for the three of you!! When my nieces were into American Girl I loved buying them stuff from the catalog. Then on a trip to NYC I was able to buy them Christmas gifts at the AG store. AMAZING place!!
