Describe what made you decide to follow God instead of the world… what worldly thing/s have you struggled with and found victory in giving up?
-or-
Tell of a time when you overcame fear and chose to stand apart. What did it cost you? What was the result? What scriptures encouraged you?
-or-
There are several times angels tell people in the Bible to “Fear Not.” Find them, and then compose a post or note about what you can draw from these scriptures.
Have fun! I'll post my own answers on Wednesdays!

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

I vividly remember a time in graduate school where standing up for faith and belief in God cost me the respect of a member of my graduate committee.
He chose to vocally belittle me in the middle of the hallway in front of everyone who happened to walk by.
I remember initially being fearful as he began his harangue, but the longer he went, the sadder I got. In the end, my heart just broke for his bitterness.
When I worked at the local newspaper, I was the only woman in my department. I was also the only one who believed that abortion was wrong. I remember having the discussion in a meeting and all the men just clearing their throats and looking away as I voiced my opinion. It felt crazy and weird and well, I was just avoided like the plague when the subject came up the next time.
I was glad that I was the only woman voicing my opinion and also sad that they would abstain from a real opinion under the guise that "they would never choose for a woman" I hoped that in the end I could give them insight and share a little light in a dark place.
Can't wait to read all your links and continue the safari!! I'm praying for you by name as I read through the next few days =)
hey! how do i get the cute little safari button on my blog to link back here?
Amber, this was such an uplifting part of my day today!
THANK YOU for all the time and effort you put into this study. Thank you for seeking Him and sharing your walk with us.
I feel privileged to have walked alongside such amazing Christian women today, through your blog and the comments and blogs of others.
It was AWESOME.
Amber, thank you for putting so much hard work into our safari through Daniel. I am learning so much from the first week.
I think the Fear vs. Courage is something I really needed to learn about as I am going through a lot of that right now with being a new believer and with my husband not having a relationship with the Lord.
Look forward to experiencing this safari each and every week.

Wow. I decided to take in the sights through Mr. Linky and don't have much more to add...awesome stuff!
I hope to contribute more down the trail; but I will add one thought I had:
It is crazy how fear grips you and you in turn seem to grip it back; the cool thing is that when we release our grip, it often is forced to release it's grip on us.
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear..." I John 4:17
I'm already behind on this study, Amber. Thinking I'm going to have to do it at my own pace. But honestly, after reading a few of my tweeps posts tonight, I want to play a fast and furious game of catch up.
